Food hall thought coming to Carpenter Road in Downtown Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Examine a further box on the eating bingo card, Evansville: We’ll shortly have a food items hall downtown on Carpenter Street right following doorway to 2nd Language.

“Every big town has foods halls now,” stated co-proprietor Jacob Vanhooser. “Nashville, Chattanooga, Louisville, Cincinnati. They are various just about everywhere.”

The attraction of a meals corridor is range and atmosphere – it is a like a meals court but cooler, with various cafe booths occupied by local business owners and a significant communal seating spot.

Vanhooser and wife Lauren, who dwell in Nashville but whose families are local, acquired the setting up at 408 Carpenter St. — formerly Mercury Sports — in late 2020 and brought in their close friend Augie Carrington of Cincinnati as a partner. They made the idea of Carpenter Crossing Food Corridor since they felt it crammed a will need and would contribute to the Downtown revival.

The old Mercury Sports headquarters might soon become a new food hall – Carpenter Crossing Food Hall – with five or six food vendors at 408 Carpenter Street in Evansville. Work has yet to begin as of Dec. 2, 2021.

“There’s almost nothing rather like this below but,” Carrington reported. “Just the other evening we were all out seeing a match and we wanted to get evening meal, and just one individual wished German foodstuff, some other people wished a thing a minimal more rapidly, but no one wanted speedy food stuff. A food corridor is a place wherever you can get a pretty quick chunk, there are a great deal of choices, and it’s scratch food from community chefs.”
